Google Ads Media Buyer Role — WDM Agency

Purpose

The purpose of the Google Ads Media Buyer role at WDM Agency is to expertly manage the day-to-day operations of Google Ad accounts and make data-driven decisions that directly drive profitable growth for our eCommerce clients.
You take pride in the precision of your work and operate with the mindset of a fiduciary — treating client ad spend with the utmost care, respect, and strategic thinking. You're not just pushing buttons. You're managing tens of thousands of dollars in daily ad spend with purpose, accountability, and a sharp analytical eye.
You are also on the front lines of all things data. As a Google Ads Media Buyer, you're responsible for interpreting performance metrics, spotting patterns and anomalies, and collaborating with the Strategist and Creative Team to ensure continuous performance improvement. Speed, accuracy, and insight are your trademarks.
Your mission at WDM is to execute campaigns within our proprietary frameworks, optimize performance with speed and precision, and help our clients hit KPIs month over month.

Primary Responsibilities

Onboarding:

Audit and quality-check new Google Ads accounts (structure, conversion tracking, campaign history)

Conduct performance research on past campaigns to identify top-performing keywords, ad creatives, and funnel strategies

Align with and implement the WDM Agency Google Ads Framework

Collaborate with the strategist and creative team to align goals and messaging

Ongoing:

Launch new search, Performance Max, and shopping campaigns weekly using best-practice structures

Implement and monitor dynamic ad tests based on creative and copy variations

Monitor budgets daily and adjust spend based on performance and client KPIs using our Scaling Protocol

Report weekly and monthly performance metrics, including ROI, CPA, CTR, CVR, etc.

Use attribution tools (e.g., Triple Whale, GA4, Google Ads attribution models) to guide decisions

Provide performance feedback to creative and copy teams for iterative improvement

Communicate daily on Slack with the internal team and proactively flag performance trends

Pull and organize organic assets for ad use from client platforms (YouTube, Instagram, etc.)

Watch and document key takeaways from monthly client calls

Qualifications & Traits

Experience Requirements:

Minimum 3–4 years of direct Google Ads experience (Search, Shopping, PMax)

Hands-on experience with Shopify-based eCommerce brands

Proven track record managing ad spend of $1000+/day across multiple accounts

Solid understanding of conversion tracking setup and troubleshooting (GTM, GA4, enhanced conversions)

Experience analyzing performance and generating clear, actionable insights

Comfortable working within a team structure and meeting tight deadlines

Logistics

Hours: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM AEST

Weekend Coverage: Light check-ins (1–3 hrs/day) for active campaign monitoring

Location: Remote (Australia time zone preferred)

Holidays: Paid public holidays
